The materials seemed fine. All parts were well protected and shipped. However, installation is not easy and the directions are minimal. I installed with a curve. The tubes for each step don't fit snuggly together so it's somewhat challenging to hold the pieces level while you screw in the 5 set screws. Also, the holes aren't machined well. They provide a tap that is the correct size to ream out the holes, but provide no directions indicating that is what it's for. Use the tap, it makes life far easier. Along with holding the steps level (in both directions), it's tough to keep them at the desired angle (or strait) since there are no detents. If the tubes were a snug fit, installation would be much easier.

They suggest you support the steps as you build down. Don't take this lightly, the weight of the steps will cause the completed ones to sag, so definately support as you go.
