I almost didn't purchase because I didn't want the brace at the top. The other model has shelves bracing it but I found them equally as unappealing. I have a walk-in shower and in the winter, it is cold not having a door. This worked out very well and was plenty sturdy without the brace at the top. I don't have kids using the shower and would have to say if you aren't going to use the brace as we did, kids should not be hanging on the shower or pushing on it. It is very sturdy, but constant abuse could loosen. It is very nice looking and complemented our bathroom well. Installation was easy and I did have to call technical support with a question and I got a live person on the line within 30 seconds that answered my question....so great customer service!
