I tend to agree, all manufactures that specify trim kit don't include the pressure balance or in this case the thermostatic valve. That's why the tittle states, "trim kit", which means the trim can be exchanged and the vavle remains.

Once I went thermostatic I would never go back, now if I can purchase the 1/2" or even 3/4" thermostatic valve for the same price I purcahsed this trim kit I'd be a happy camper.
